Get Your Money Together Bootcamp!

Get Your Money Together Bootcamp

Get Your Money Together Bootcamp at Broadspace PDX
Every Sunday in March 2017, from 1PM to 3PM

Practical, no-judgement financial literacy

For the second time, Broadspace, a women’s art and work collective based here in Portland, Oregon will be hosting a cohort of Get Your Money Together Bootcamp on Sunday afternoons in May 2017. I’m so excited to be helping women reach their creative & business goals by conquering their money issues with a dash of glitter. Let’s create your new financial story!

Does thinking about money make you want to bury your head in the sand? Learn to manage your budget so that it doesn’t manage you. In a non-judgemental space, over 4 weekly classes, we’ll tackle your biggest money worries and you’ll come out with a solid plan for your finances. We’ll cover:

  • Budgeting without crying
  • Save on slim or variable income
  • Breaking the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle
  • Conquering debt
  • “Am I saving enough for retirement? WTF is investing?”
  • Learn to use credit for good, not evil
  • Mortgages 101
  • How to avoid getting hit with overdraft fees because you’re afraid to look at your bank account
  • How to choose a bank and bank products that make sense for you

I strongly believe that building a strong movement of women means building up women who are confident about their money. If you’re interested in joining in on this glitter-filled 4-week personal finance bootcamp, register here!

“Taking Lillian’s money class inspired me to make a plan to aggressively pay off my student loans! Made a plan to have them gone in 18 months! :sparkles: I’m tripling my payments & it feels sooooo good!”

“I really appreciated Lillian’s blunt, humorous honesty and ability to tell us what we really need to know instead of boring us with a finance talk.”

Is this Get Your Money Together bootcamp only for women?

No! This bootcamp is for folks of all genders, but is fiercely feminist (and intersectional & trans-friendly to boot.) Women are rarely put at the center of conversations about investing & financial planning. We’re looking to shift that norm.

This is too expensive for me. Do you have scholarships available?

Yes, we do have a limited number of scholarships available for folks that have financial barriers to attendance. If you qualify for public assistance such as SNAP, TANF, or OHP or are living on SSI/SSDI, you qualify for a scholarship.

The application process is meant to be as quick as possible – just send an email to lillian@ohmydollar.com with a short description of your financial circumstances & what you’re most excited about tackling in this class!

What is transit & access like at the space?

Broadspace PDX is located 1 block from SE MLK & SE Oak Street. The space is easy  to get to by bike or public transit – located directly on the A Streetcar loop, one block from the B loop, and a 3 minute walk from bus lines 6, 12, 20, and 19. Street parking can be tight in the neighborhood for cars but should be relatively available and free on a Sunday.

Unfortunately, the space is an older building and currently is not ADA compliant for wheelchair access. There are tight hallways & a few stairs to access the industrial elevator to the Broadspace floor. If you have access needs, let us know, we will work to accommodate you!

Lillian was a spectacular teacher!
Her spunkiness (and the cat memes) help calm my existential angst about student loans. It’s going to be okay!
